Online Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy for Phobias

Support for specific phobias, intense fears and avoidance that are starting to limit your life.

For when you know the fear feels bigger than the actual danger, but your mind and body still react as though you are not safe.

Phobias can feel very real, even when part of you knows the reaction is out of proportion to the situation

You may avoid certain places, objects, journeys, animals, medical situations or experiences because the fear feels too strong to manage.

Over time, avoidance can make the fear feel even more powerful and begin to shape your choices.

When a specific phobia leads to avoidance and loss of confidence

You may have become very good at organising your life around the fear, even if you wish you did not have to.

You might be:

  • avoiding certain places or situations

  • relying on other people to help you feel safe

  • worrying in advance about coming across the thing you fear

  • feeling embarrassed or frustrated by how strong the reaction is

  • changing plans to avoid discomfort

  • experiencing physical anxiety or panic around the trigger

  • feeling less independent because of the fear

  • wishing you could respond more calmly but not knowing how

Your logical mind and your threat response do not always agree

You may already know that the situation is unlikely to harm you.

That does not necessarily stop the body from reacting as though there is a threat.

Therapy can help you begin changing that response and build greater confidence around situations that currently feel difficult.

Therapy for phobias can help you feel calmer and less controlled by fear

The goal is not to force yourself into situations before you are ready. It is to help the fear have less influence over your choices.

Our work may focus on helping you:

● reduce anticipatory anxiety

● respond differently to the trigger

● reduce avoidance

● feel more confident in situations you currently fear

● trust your ability to cope

● feel less physically overwhelmed by anxiety

● regain independence and freedom

● make choices based on what you want, rather than what the fear allows

Everyone experiences fear differently, so the work is shaped around what matters most to you.
